I’ve run into a bit of a puzzling situation and would appreciate advice from those who’ve dealt with VVT systems and their solenoids.
Background:
About 2.5 years ago and roughly 30,000 km back, I replaced the timing chains on my Audi and also swapped out the oil pump. Currently, there are no error codes from the engine, and the car is driven daily.

What’s concerning me:
- On the highway, when cruising at 90-100 km/h for a while, fuel consumption used to be around 7 L/100 km, but now it’s closer to 8 L/100 km.
- A noticeable gasoline smell from the exhaust when starting the engine cold.
- It feels like the car has lost some power—like it’s closer to 270 hp instead of the 310 hp it should have.
- Slight but constant vibrations in the cabin when in Drive (D).
Other than that, nothing critical stands out; the car drives fine.
Diagnostics via VCDS:
I recently used VCDS to check the parameters for the chains and phasing. Here’s what I found
Parameters in Neutral (N) at 2000 and 3000 RPM:

Parameters in Neutral (N) at idle:

I cleaned the solenoids and replaced the seals with Elring 174.080.
Before cleaning:

After cleaning:

I rechecked the parameters via VCDS: https://limewire.com/d/8hD9G#sciXaMteGO
(VCDS log attached above)
Is there any problems in the log?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
