today i was driving at 60mph and the car shuttered, rpms went crazzy epc light and then boom, car shut off. i was like well there goes my engine again. stopped turned on car and 3800 rpms limit , limp mode, no power, car shut off again. but started right up. limped it home. scanned for codes i was the crank sensor. well i got a duralast one fromn autozone for now since i ordered an oem one on fcp. well the car is fine now. my question is the old cranks sensor was a little bit of oil. not sure if its normal or is something leaking internally that cause it to fail?

Normal for a leaky RMS or Trans seal. Smell it... does it smell like motor oil or ATF?

It's in a spot that is kinda easily abused and forgotten, but actively dripping oil comes from only 2 places and neither is fun to deal with! If it's traveling back from the motor, you should see other signs in front of it.

Clean and monitor would be the best option till you know for sure it's leaking.... then you have a decision to make!
