Do you have any sound/video clips? A lot of people are reporting that eliminating the center resonator/muffler even with a straight pipe has no impact on the exhaust note.

It’s definitely a little deeper but nothing noticeable. If you private message me I can give you my number and send you some videos before and after. The main thing it did was add a little drone. I didn’t do an x pipe but not sure if that’s related

My experience is different. It's a noticeably louder (especially around 2k RPM) but not much deeper at all, and very little drone unless you cruise at like 80 mph where you'll be in the 2k rpm range. It'll get slightly raspier in higher RPMs.

This new x-pipe seems interesting. There is actually a stock x-pipe just in front of the center resonator that this one replaces because it extends that far, so it's just pushing the x-pipe further down the pipe. Would love to hear a video on it!

Lolll this is someone else’s exhaust but same car they took it off and I think replaced with the awe touring right when they bought car

Just ordered! hopefully it's louder than my stock exhaust sound, i need some noise in my life. If ECS tuning can push up my delivery date i can record the sound when i get it in and installed.

I could see this sounding good. I belive what causes the nasty rasp/ high pitch sound when deleting the mid muffler is the stock x pipe design. Now that this gets rid of muffler and replaces x pipe I think it will sound clean!!

I have a 2018 A6 C7.5 and I have the same exhaust routing as what ECS shows. Nick_elgy I think you're missing where the X-pipe is because it's under the chassis brace. Also it looks like a box as shown in that pic not an X, but it is the X-pipe.

So ECS's X-pipe removes the stock X-pipe and the center resonator/muffler. However, that's sort off the same as just straight piping the center resonator and keeping the stock X-pipe.

it might be. but I think the stock x pipe is what causes that horrendous rasp. so moving to a real x pipe not a box pipe ( lol) may be what was needed.

If you’re talking about the results, yes I agree. I plan to try something that I don’t think anyone ever tried on a 3.0T Audi. I plan to replace my rear mufflers with glasspack resonators. Any objections?

Yeah, the results of the sound. Glad I hadn't bothered. I'll just still with Magnaflow cat-back someday since Borla won't ever produce one for the A6.

I just installed this x-pipe on my 2016 A7 last night. Only took about an hour and a half in my garage with the car on jack stands. Figment was perfect. I’d say it was an easy mod. The car sounded good on the initial start up after the install but I didn’t have time to take it for a drive. I will be putting some miles on it today and will report back with my opinion on the end result.
