So I just had mine replaced 2 days ago. I noticed oil leaking from the top of the timing chain cover. Also heard a slight clatter which lead me to believe the chain was at the least loose. Took it to my personal mechanic, my brother, and sure enough I suspected correctly. My 2016 A5 just hit 80,000 and about 3,000 of them I have been pushing the car kinda hard. Just did a ton engine mods over the last 3 months and kind of figured it was time to get it checked and replaced if needed. If you have a mechanic you can trust they can let you know pretty quickly if you need a replacement. Good luck and at all costs STAY AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP
