    Hey Fam,

Need some assistance. Issues with no start began last summer, every so often car would not start. Happened slowly, one week maybe 100 starts and 1 no start, progressively got worse to just no start by November. Living in Chicago land area I put her away in the garage for winter. Well spring has sprung and im tired of seeing and hearing all the shitbox mustangs drivong around my town and fogured ots time to address the issue. Vag-Com showed coolant fan control module failure and ground faults.

    Coolant fan control circuit 1 - p0480
    Coolant fan control circuit 2 - p0841
    Fan 1 Conteol Circuit - p0691
    Fan 2 Contol Circui - p0690
This was based on the readings before I put jer away for winter.

Today I noticed my trickle charger was showing that the poles were reversed which was odd. I removed it thinking my trickle charger was defective. By recommendation of a friend I connected a battery charger to the engine bay poles and the car fired right up. Removed the jumper, let the car run and 5 minutes later it just died out. I should have tested the battery but I jumped to conclusions and bought a new one and slapped it in....car still won't fire up and for some reason battery adaptation is not working. Now I have multiple DTCs lighting up the dash like a xmas tree.

After checking every phucking fuse and relay I decided to check the battery voltage. New battery with car off is 12.6. I used my portable battery pack to get the car running. Once running the poles in engine bay showed 14.2, and battery was 12.6 still. Shouldn't the battery read 14.2 while engine is on? Is this a alternator issue, ground fault? I'm at a loss here and might be over my skis.

    Any suggestions?

Maybe your new battery is bad? Might have to test it under load...alternator could also be an issue. I know my car (2014 RS7) started having electrical gremilins before I replaced it (FWIW - my battery was old, I think the original that came with the car, though)
