Windshield / Rear View Mirror Question

I got a new windshield today and quickly realized the PO had just glued a random RVM to the window. To keep it simple I need a rear view mirror. I can see there are wires coming from the headliner tucked up so I imagine from factory this had either autodim and/or maybe a compass? I elected to have a "no sensors" windshield installed and I know on newer vehicles there is an open spot in the glass for these functions. The glass I got just has a black spot on the glass with a metal connection on it. I know the side mirrors are autodim glass if that helps.
To distil this down, I now have a "non sensor glass" (if that's even a thing) should I find a no sensor rear view mirror or can I use an auto dim mirror? I read B6 mirrors should work and I tried an autodim I had in the yard and the metal receptacle on the glass was far too small for the mirror.
I'd like to see behind me

Can't help you much, but I can confirm that the original mirror was auto-dimming

Can you post a picture of the mounting nub on the windshield so we can verify that it’s the right one for your car?

I'm running a compass mirror from a b7 in my car, luckily I didn't have to code it or anything, it was a plug and play and displays the directions correctly. Still using the factory mount that sticks on the glass, I just switched the mirror itself out, the balljoints are the same size and just pops in, make sure you do it outside the car as you could damage the glass popping the mirror on as it requires some force.
I think I may have a spare compass mirror somewhere if you are interested in it, otherwise I'd try to find one in a yard b7/c6 should work, I don't see them much anymore in my local yards.
