Ordered the full setup with downpipes, inlets and install kit for barely more than the F21 setup.

Also ordered the RR stage 3+ clutch. I considered the stage 4, but will probably drive the car often in winter. based on feedback from Mike, it makes the most sense

Those are the two biggest pieces of the build, now i need to finalize everything else.
None of his turbos move anywhere near enough air to need 2.8 heads fwiw. Same goes for most turbos that go in the stock location as a bolt on. You need LOTS of cfm to need those big ports.

That's the high pressure 450 right? That's what I had fail.
    B5 S4- K24s, built bottom end, E85 - Gone
    B9 S4- EPL/AWE
    996TT X50 - Marski 700hp

Yep them. Only one I had fail was from a wiring issue and was my fault.

    question for folks.

My current Maf is refusing to work anymore. I cleaned it and it worked for a bit then right back to failure. The car is setup for the Bosch. I keep hearing about the hitatchi, is it a requirement to switch, or can i replace it with another bosch. If i do switch, does it require a tune? Id really like to drive the car a bit before swapping the turbos just to double check for any problems before i introduce a tonn of change.

will require re-tune and an adapter for the plug IIRC

make sure your spark plugs are two ranges colder than stock for stage 3.
Also MAF housing diameter is critical, tuner must tune for a specific diameter, most common 85mm, and 90mm, both OK, as long as tuner knows the exact diameter.
Intercooler hoses are probably needed, considering age of your original hoses.
I had good experience with South Bend stage 2 endurance clutch, it holds stage 3 just fine, but above recommended B7 RS4 is almost as good for fraction of the price.
Original RS4 intercoolers are not that great fit for narrow body S4, consider SRM, if not able to afford for now, you will be OK with XS crap for most of the times, except really hot days, until you save for better intercoolers.
Hitachi MAF is way better for stage 3, in any case tune will be for a specific MAF brand, just like is for the MAF housing diameter .

Not sure why everyone say hitachi is better than Bosch maf.

    I use a b7 s4
Maf paired with a allroad 4.2 airbox and it’s been great

One range colder is perfectly fine, unless the car is operated in extreme heat all the time. Exactly what tbd RS4 uses fwiw. I’m at 100k miles now on my K04s since 2020, on one range colder.

The MAF makes zero difference, idc what anyone says (having used both). Again, exactly what all RS4s have.

You will need to discuss and review details with the tuner on maf housing size and Bosch vs. Hitachi.

I want to give a shout out to SEP. Gave me a fair warning before I clicked buy that he was doing a production run and turbos wouldn't ship till late April. Continued to give me updates along the way, and the turbos shipped exactly when he said they would. Good communication, up front too.
Can't review the turbos yet, but working with him has been good.

Ringer Racing was also great, fast shipping fast replies, and thoughtful suggestions.
