    22 RS6 Driver Assistance faults?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Taking a shot in the dark here to see if anyone else has experienced intermittent faults in their driver’s assistance systems. I get this error “Driver assistance systems currently limited. Affected systems will be continuously updated in message memory” daily, but it doesn’t seem to actually cause any adverse affects. It may be more of a nuisance than anything, but the dealer can’t seem to replicate or resolve the issue. They have updated the software for the instrument cluster, but don’t seem to have any other ideas.

For me, it typically happens when I first drive the car and I’m exiting our neighborhood. I think low speeds may be a factor here. I’ve also had it pop up when I arrive home in front of the garage and other random locations too. It is just most consistent on the initial drive.

    Anyone else encounter anything similar?IMG_1483.jpg

Have you checked your front sensors to make sure they aren't dirty or excessively wet? Also do you have anything hardwired into your fuse box or mirror power assembly?

Oooh man. I wonder if you might be onto something here. The car is generally pretty clean at all times. I’ve seen this happen after washes too.

I do have a radar detector hardwired to something in the rear view mirror area though. I had thought the detector may have played into this by throwing out frequencies, but thought I might’ve ruled it out when I got the error messages while it was completely unplugged too.

My understanding is that the wiring itself is causing the interference, not the power to it. There is some special isolation tape I remember someone talking about. I have mine hardwired to the fusebox.

Yes, and I do not have anything wired, so it's not wiring interference. At best it's dirt on the sensors - ice, frost, mud, etc. all seem to cause it. At worst, the sensors are faulty.

    Mine is a '24 RS7 performance.

Sorry, not a C8, but I used to have ACC and Driver Assistant faults. Had a faulty radar, but also was told by Audi that if the rear alignment is off, it can produce bad results too.

I did hear something similar from my dealer last visit and had them realign the whole car, but it didn't resolve it. They also said that the lowered stance might have something to do with it, but I'm skeptical.

I did unplug the radar detector completely also (e.g. no additional load) and I still get these errors, so I'm not sure if it's wiring interference either. At this point though, I might try to remove the hardwire altogether just to confirm.

This is the reason I didn't spec the DAP on my upcoming 2025 due to those potential gremlins.

I get the same notification on my ‘ as well, often times right after I turn off ACC.

Have you scanned it with VCDS when they do pop up??? I’m pretty sure that I’m 99.99% sure on what’s causing it. I’m having the exact same issue and when I scanned it with VCDS I was getting a fault for a driver door module malfunction (2021 SQ7) but the dealer won’t fix it unless they consider it a “non”-sporadic type of issue. I’ll try to look into the thread in which someone pushed the dealer to the limit to the point in which they went in and replaced modules and it fixed those issues. At times I get 360 (top view) camera issues where the driver door mirror camera won’t display on my MMI while reversing or what not and at times it’s all of the cameras.

Mine showed this message the other day while using the driving assistance in traffic. It went away and I noticed no other issues.

And me too … message generally goes away as mysteriously as it arrived - sometimes just 15mins further on whilst still driving in torrential downpour

I only recall getting this when the weather is terrible and in heavy rainy conditions.
