Hey all.
I got a "Licence Plate Light Faulty" message on my 2023 Audi S5 Sportback last night. When i went to the trunk to check it out, there was a plastic burning smell in that area. When i removed the fuse box cover, I realized the smell was coming from that area specifically. It was a plastic burning smell. So I brought it into my Audi dealership this morning to have them look into it. They did the inspection, and just changed the licence plate bulb. But they could not explain the smell. They knew there was a short somewhere, but they checked it over and determined it was fine. It was all covered under warranty, which is good since I didn't want to pay $200 for them to change a cheap bulb I could have replaced in 3 minutes.
Has anyone ever had a similar experience like this? Specifically a burning smell or a short coming from the left rear fuse box? I'm just worried it could be a bigger problem that the dealer did not see.
Any help or info would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
