Massive misfire after reaching 6000 rpm

2002 Audi A4 3.0 V6 with 116,000 miles. I was doing a pull when I reached near redline at 6000 RPM. Engine light started flashing and misfire codes popped up. I turned the engine on and off but its still running rough. The timing belt and coil packs look relatively new, no idea about fuel filter.

Could be coil packs, ignition connectors, injectors, etc. which I changed. My 3.0 went through a mysterious period where wide-open would cause the shuddering and flashing CEL. So, I avoided full throttle/high RPMs. One day I tried again, and the thing pulled to redline (6,400 I think) nice and clean. It's been fine since for some reason. 315,000 miles too.

It could be the spark plugs, too. Pull a couple out and see what they look like.

How do the 3.0s do with regards to the ignition and injector wiring? Does the wiring insulation disintegrate like it does on the 1.8s?
