Bluetooth Audio on B7 S4 Without Replacing Head Unit?

    Hey guys,

My 2008 B7 S4 has the Audi Navigation Plus (Bose) with factory Bluetooth, but it only works for calls. I want to stream music (Spotify, etc.) without swapping the head unit.

    - No FM transmitter – I don’t want to deal with two different Bluetooth connections messing things up.
    - I’d like to keep the car’s built-in mic for calls and have audio streaming work seamlessly.
    - Steering wheel controls working for music would be a huge plus.

Anyone found a good way to do this? Appreciate any tips!

Dension BTLite or Gateway Pro were always good options back in my B7. Steering wheel controls worked, could scroll through contacts in the DIS too. Can probably bypass factory bluetooth and only use the Dension with the rest using the existing car features.

I used to have a unit that worked well for my RS4 however I replaced the head unit. I'm pretty sure I still have it in my garage somewhere if you are interested. I live in Calgary so shipping it would be easy! Did you want me to have a look for it?

Do you have iPod port in the glovebox? I used one of those iPod to Bluetooth adapters. Works great. My phone connects to both at the same time. Phone works perfectly as you're still using the legacy car Bluetooth, but for audio streaming (A2DP), you're using the iPod adapter.

Hey if OP doesn’t bite I will, would be great to have audio streaming without changing the unit
