Just got my trans back!woohoo. Drove it for 5 miles and the speedo stopped working, tried 2 different sensors and now a 3rd oem sensor and new plug.
    Unplausible speed sensor error
Does anyone know or have a schematic, or know where those wires come up to the ecu, i would like to conform the wires are good.
I do have a vag reader, but not sure how to use it that well.

Here’s how I tested mine: Pull the VSS out, turn the ignition on, prop your phone up on the steering wheel to record the cluster, and tap the tip of the VSS with a magnet. You should see movement.

I just spent a couple weeks troubleshooting a similar issue, which turned out to be my transmission missing a tone ring.

The harness pops out of the main engine harness shortly after if leaves the false firewall and it follows down the bell housing. Make sure the wires aren’t pinched in the bell housing, given the recent transmission work. Also, there’s a rubber boot on the connector and, pull it back and make sure there’s no water in the connector trapped by the rubber boot.

Thanks for the heads up. Great idea with the magnet. I will try that..I had a flashlight with me that has a magnetic right on the back
.I thought I saw a stretch mark up where I can't really see, right where it goes into the harness..

The magnet is an easy test
