    Hi,

I am having an issue with my b6 whenever I turn the wheel the abs code comes up 00301 v39.

I am wondering where the fuse is since I think this may have happened after the car was jump started.

    Thanks

Been looking into this further I got a copy of elsawin, but I see a different amount of fuses under the kick panel on my car, checked fuse 42 and fuse 7 on the drivers side fuse panel and checked one 50 amp fuse under the steering column, no blown fuses, I checked vcds and the pump appears off according to it, speed sensors seem to be working according to vcds so I am pretty stumped.

So i bit the bullet and bought a used ABS pump/module.

Swapped the new module in, it looked like it had been opened up before, coded it in with VCDS but now i seem to have other codes.

The code i am getting is for a wheel speed sensor, there was no such code with the old ABS unit in, im wondering if the old unit did not pick this up correctly or if the new unit is faulty.

The speedo also stopped working, this was never the case before.

    Code:
00283 - ABS wheel speed sensor front left

18256 - Please check DTC memory of Engine controller P1848 intermident.

The new symptoms sound a bit like a faulty ABS module--something common enough on these cars that there are services out there that fix the problem for us. I replaced a front-left wheel speed sensor attempting to correct that code, as well as an intermittent speedometer failure, to no avail. There are companies who will reattach the little micro wires inside the controller for you, like cheap-abs.com.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the old symptoms having disappeared since you replaced the module... this also points to a failed ABS module. So your first one died and your replacement unit was faulty.

What made you think that the replacement unit has been opened?

Yeah i think you are correct, i am going to bite the bullet and send it out for a rebuild, i was told by the repairer he cannot repair the one with a V39 code however he can repair wheel speed sensor codes, either way i believe both ABS modules are bad and based on the age of these i am guessing most would be bad or on their way. Will update once i get it rebuilt

Alright so sent them out for rebuild, my original module was not repairable and the module which i got used the guy said is not compatible, which i find weird, it has a different bosch PN however he said it is not broken inside and it just is not compatible.

It came supposidly from a B6 according to the wrecker, the PN for the module was 382166 0 265 950 011 where is my original was 287174 0 265 950 012

I am most likely going to send it back as they sent me the wrong one but does anyone know if i could cross check this?
