Here’s what I moved on to. It’s one of a kind though, and made by me.

Universal Intake, was long and curvy. I cut it to the shape I wanted. Measured and cut square out of the pipe for the maf sensor.
Then needed a way to seal it, cause the box is flat with sensor. The pipe I had was round.
Cut out a square of car tire. Cut the hole in middle for the sensor to go through. Th em shapes the bottom with a grinder to make it round, so it sat flush against the pipe, and allowed for the screws to mount.
Then got a heat shield that wraps the filter from the exhaust.
Should be fine. By itself, but when I have it all out together and hoses ran, I’m gonna build a heat shield wall like the high end intakes for theee are.
I got 14 bucks in my intake. And it has a reusable filter, it’s in the perfect spot to catch the forced air from the stock air dam. I love the color scheme of it as well. That’s just me though. I’m biased cause I’m so proud of it lol

So I'm seeing everyone talk about the nice noises this mod gives, but what about power? Is this likely to add any power? Or even remove any from less than perfect air flow / heatsoaked engine air?
It will add zero power. It’s just a noise maker/gimmick.
Scratch that. There’s a SLIM possibility that having the front cut out of the airbox MIGHT add a little more flow at very high RPM’s. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference.
Some Audi airboxes actually have a flap that opens at WOT so in theory it could allow more flow but doubt that it would be useful.
The general consensus is that air intake mods don’t do shit
The factory airbox is quite good, but it does have its limits. The B6 airbox is the same, and way back when Stasis did a ton of testing/R&D on the platform and determined that the airbox was efficient up to about 360 or 380hp (cant remember exactly). So for 95% of setups its more than enough, and a slight decrease in efficiency with a car making say 400hp is likely not to be felt.
The 420hp B7 RS4 airbox is very similar to ours, but has a large hole in the bottom similar to this mod FWIW.
Does anyone have sound clips of this being done on a 3.2? Does it give you a similar intake sound like a V6 car has with a CAI. My car is stock, but I would not mind a little bit of intake sound on throttle.
This sound is only possible because of a turbo. You wouldn't notice any sound or performance effects from this mod unfortunately.
