View Full Version : Broken Rear Differential Mount

Hi guys, I haven't seen many posts on this, so hopefully someone can help out. My lower rear diff mount has decided to take off its hat, causing the bushing to lift up and allow some significant slop and thudding in the drive train (see images below).

I'm looking to see if there's any write up or advice on replacing this? There's obviously no room to replace it (from what I can see) with the diff in the way, so I assume that needs to come out. I can probably use the mount inserts to reduce the drive train slop, but since the outer aluminum shell is destroyed (not the rubber), it likely won't provide much support, if at all.

Any help is appreciated!

The FSM shows how to replace that bushing with the subframe still in place but I'd just find a nicer used subframe and swap the whole thing over. In fact I did just that last year.

Ah, I’ll have to find a manual and have a look.

It would be nice to replace the subframe, but I’m about 12hrs from anywhere that might have one, and I’d imagine shipping one to my location would be a fortune. I’ll do some research to see if I can source one worth getting to where I am, but replacing the bushing itself might be the best option right now.
