Hi all,

My first post after being approved to post. I have been reading and learning for years from your posts but am now able to jump in to contribute, if able. I do have a question regarding my car, though. I have a stock 2015 A4 B8.5, Prem Plus, S-line, sport package, 19" wheels, suede seats. I started getting intermittent error messages about 2 months ago, right around 110,000 miles. The messages alert on the dash driver information screen. I've had 'Parking Brake', shut engine off and check coolant level, brake pads and parking brake. I also have recorded some codes related to some of these errors.

I have had the car on a lift with wheels off. I have inspected the brake system to include the front left brake pad wear sensor. All brake pads and rotors are good. The parking brake operates normally, engages and releases normally, with the normal sound. There are no coolant leaks and the coolant level is normal. The feel of the car on the road is normal. Braking is normal and engine temp is normal after warm-up. The errors happen regardless of ambient temperature and humidity. I disconnected the coolant reservoir connector, cleaned contacts and used dielectric grease on the contacts. The car is normally on the highway for my 130 mile commute, but when I'm home, I can go for days without an error message on the dash. Or, the next day when I start it I get codes...

OK, my friends, please let me know your theories. I suspect one of the Body Control Modules is failing. Or, it could be that all of these systems are failing due to our Wisconsin weather, at the same time, but that is suspect. BCM1 in the trunk is the one I suspect...

Thanks for your input!

How old is the battery?

Did you scan for codes? I wonder if the battery is going bad because of the cold weather and low charge.

Battery could be a factor but it tests good and holds charge well. When I hook up charger, battery is at nearly full charge after sitting overnight

I have not had a code in days, with mixed driving. The car has sat overnight outside in freezing temperatures. No code. Use it as a grocery getter or highway commuter, no codes.

I'll post when I get another code and irritating dash messages.
