to go stage 1 on the b8.5 there's actually no hardware required so you could even do that as your first mod if you want. Welcome to the club and enjoy.

was definetly planning for stage 1,
also im wondering how does it work for the engine pulleys?
I see people change the SC and Crank pulleys, how do these work?
Got a friend of mine selling his 57mm pulley and wondering if I will see a difference.
thx =D

pulley upgrades are for the tune upgrades. supercharger pulley upgrade is what you need to go stage 2 (single pulley). then to go stage 2+ you add the crank pulley as well so you have both the supercharger and crank pulleys (Dual pulley).

would stage 1 work with the small supercharger pulley? I'm pulling the engine out and wondering what I can do before putting it back in

if you're pulling the motor just go stage 2. All you really need is an intake and maybe heat exchanger along with the smaller supercharger pulley as far as hardware goes.

Congrats, and welcome to the club!
How many miles/Kilometers are on the car? Since you're planning on pulling the engine, it might be an ideal time to take care of some preventative maintenance.

Like Atrevido said. Absolutely think about maintenance before any mods, engine out is the best time for it. PCV valve, waterpump, thermostat, carbon cleaning, ect, the common stuff. Look at the maintenance schedule but even if its not up it will probably be worth doing while you're in there.

At 160,000km (or nearly 100,000 miles) you're definitely at the point where you want to follow PMB6ayfour's advice and replace those parts.
For the water pump be sure to get one with a metal impeller, and not plastic. I had all this work done around 90,000 miles because the timing was convenient.
I'm not sure if FCP Euro ships to Canada, but if so, they’re an excellent resource.
