Hello folks,
I actually have a 2014 B8.5 S5 with 55k mi but figured I'd post here as it's the more trafficed sub.
The drivers seat will no longer move forward only. All other directions, heating etc all work fine. Passenger seat works fine.
As it is an S5, it has the switch on the upper seat back which can move the seat forwards and back which an S4 does not have AFAIK. When trying to move the seat forwards with this switch, it also won't move.
When pushing the various seat movement controls on either of the seats, it appears to cause relays to click in a flat electrical module attached to the center of the seat bottom visible from under the seat. I can put my hand on it and feel the relay clicks etc.
My thinking is:
1) no relay clicks = switch or relay/control module under seat is bad or wire knocked loose
2) the upper seatback switch also doesn't work, meaning unless it somehow routes through the other switch std controls, it's likely not the switch at fault
3) that leaves the issue either a wire or the relay/module
4) given I'm the only driver and had the car since new and rarely drive it since Covid (WFH), I know nothing unusual was done like messing with wiring etc. No service etc.
That leads me to believe it's likely the seat relay/control module under the seat bottom and slightly less chance it's a loose wire.
Questions:
1) has anyone dealt with a partially dead power seat? what was the outcome?
2) has anyone tried working on the seat control/relay module? It looks like it's a $500 part (https://parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi__/Power-Seat-Control-Module/48991330/4G8959760.html).
Thanks in advance
