I was coming home from West Virginia and all of a sudden I got the "Brake Pad Warning light" and the word Brake was also illuminated. I pulled over and ran a scan of the car no faults were showing. None of the brakes were dragging so I drove home. I did the brakes at all four corners almost 5000 miles ago. I replaced the rotors and pads and the pad wear sensor.

Has anyone dealt with this before? I searched and did not find anything. Could the speed sensor be part of the problem? I did not clean those. Or could it be a bad pad sensor?

Any help or point me to what to look for would be great.

Thanks for your time.

Brake pad warning light, so your sensor was cut through from the front left inner pad being low. Unplug the sensor from the harness plug and test it for continuity, is it in tact or broken (open circuit)? Could be an issue with the wiring from the J519 to the harness plug, maybe an issue with the splice or the connector itself. Pin 1 (brown) goes to chassis ground, pin 2 (black) goes to J519, black 32-pin, pin 9.

It is also a possibility your slides are stuck and that will wipe out the inner pad pretty quickly. Just something to check.

I wanted to thank you I finally got to checking the brake sensor and it was a broken wire. I had a replacement put it in and the warning light is gone. Again thank you very much. I like it when the repair is simple.
