Hey ya'll, so I recently got a new to me A4 with the 2.0T from a family member who got a low oil pressure issue. They said they had removed the oil pan and found plastic pieces that looked to be from either a tensioner or guide. He said he had removed the pieces and it solved that issue. Now if there's any truth to that, I'm not sure, because he gave the car to me 1/4 put back together because he did not want to do the maintenance/diagnosis. meaning the car has not run since. So when I got the car, I disassembled the oil pump/balance shaft, considering I might as well since there were only a few bolts for the pan and the lower subframe mostly removed to take the assembly off. Apon inspecting the oil pump, everything checks out. No visible damages to the tensioner or chain, (even though I can't see the top sprocket the chain is connected to) no play in either shafts, and no signs of broken teeth on the shaft gears. My question, is where should I go from here? I need to know if there's another guide in the oil chain assembly, or is it a possibility that the cam chain tenshioner and guides from the back of the engine is what ended up in the oil pickup tube. Where should I go from here?
