Hi all,

I dont often go over 80mph, but recently ive noticed on the rare occasion that I do, the car seems to rumble from the rear. The tires are a little old but still have safe amounts of tread left.
It seems to change slightly based on the road, but its always a very distinct difference between 78 mph and 80. I am wondering if there is anything i should be checking. Tire pressure is equal, tread depth is similar, i dont think its the differential, but im not sure. It might be the exhaust hitting resonance, but again not sure.

Would love to hear thoughts, or if anyone else notices this.

Could be wheel bearing starting to go.

Always start with tires.
Do you have a second set you can swap over to compare? If no then move the wheels from back to front and test.
What is the date on the tires? Are they expired/old? Vibration along with the noise?

Outside of that if you're not mechanically savvy you'll need to get it diagnosed by a shop. I doubt it's exhaust because exhaust is not speed related - it's RPM and you'd hear a "rumble" at that same RPM in each gear.

I would start with a simple balance first, cheap and easy for any shop to do.
