Hi, all.

Looking to get some help if anybody has tried to use a different fuel pump assembly for the 1.8T variant. I have a 2006 A4 B7 1.8T (8EC) Quattro which has the part number 8e0919051BL for the pump. It's available but more on the expensive side. I did some research and stumbled upon 8E0919051CQ which is a bit cheaper but it is advertised as for the 2.0 and some others, but the 1.8T isn't listed.

They look pretty similar in terms of build and connectors and I think both are 4 bar. The only difference I see is that it's a green top instead of the white one that I have.

Anybody has experience using the green top for their 1.8T?

TYIA!

I'm not comfortable straying from confirmed fitment, but if it helps you may save money by getting the kit instead of the entire assembly. For example go to FCP Euro website and search on 8E0906087PKT. It will show the kit and a list of supported OE numbers. I replaced that pump on my car (the whole assembly) , 05 A4 B7 Quattro 3.2 and after removing the bad one I got the OE manufacturer directly off the unit. For mine it was VDO, not sure if they are all same, but I saved money by shopping around based on OE manufacturer instead of Factory Original.

I would recommend running the same part number that's on the car.

Thanks both for the reply. I know the safest is just to use the same part number but the pricing for the parts I've checked is almost ~200USD difference, so that me lead to research on potential alternatives.

@CopernicusB7 - the one installed on mine is VDO/Siemens, so might check the kit part route if available.

Def go with VDO(oe), no reason to buy genuine
