View Full Version : Stalling problem?

Today I was pulling into my school parking lot and had it in first gear with the clutch all the way in, and the RPM dipped below idol and the car vibrated a bit like it was going to stall, so I hit the gas so it didn't give out. Its never done this before. I didn't have time to fool around with it cuzz I was late for class. But it did it again when I was coming in from lunch, except I didn't hit the gas to bring the revs up. It leveled out itself.

What do you guys think this could be? Dirty throttle body or something? Never done it before, just wondering.

is it dbw? if so probably dirty throttle body. if not i believe the 2.8s have a idle control valve but i could be wrong. The symptoms sound like a bad/dirty idle control valve.

Try cleaning the TB... I had that problem on my 2.8 and a good cleaning fixed it right up... A bitch to do though...

Yeah I was reading a how too, and he said it was pretty difficult to clean. I think the pre facelift cars are DBC right?
