Blizzaks have done me well. Saved me from sliding into a car who ran a stop sign.

Your killin me'. Got me all thinkin' about snow and I havent replaced my boards yet.

Anything M+S will work fine. Its not like your racing or living in Russian weather.

i would think that for daily driving in the bay area and weekend trips to tahoe, blizzaks are pry overkill as they are more of a dedicated snow tire. they will wear quickly if you use them on a daily driver. they are great in the snow however. i used conti extreme contacts for several years as my all year round tire. they definitely perform well in the snow. if you remember new years about two years ago (huge snowstorms), i was driving in at least 8 - 10 inches around s. lake and waltzed by 4x4 trucks and suvs just spinning their wheels (no pun intended). when driving around the peninsula and the city, they still had good performance and mileage was excellent. I've also heard pirellis are excellent. what M+S did you use that you didn't like?
