Okay, this is probably one of the most ridiculous things you will come across on this forum.

I'm not sure if this is going to be posted in the correct area for help, but let's find out.

So I just sold my audi rs3, and I loved the steering wheel and turn signal control setup. (Probably too much)

I have an old 1985 toyota pickup that I have dumped more money than I care to know about into it. Currently, it's a lexus v8 swapped widebody truck with a bmw e30 dash and cluster in it.

I would like to put the steering column, turn signal switches, and steering wheel into it. The main point is that I would like a telescopic steering column that has both tilt and forward/back functionality.

The mechanical portions of it will actually be very easy, so that's not a big issue.

However, the issue I'm currently researching is how to allow for the turn signals, headlights, and wipers as well as a few of the steering wheel buttons to work.

Since the audi uses a can bus system and my truck is going to just use basic relays and switches, im not sure how to incorporate them.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can make this overly complicated and overpriced setup work?

Whether I have to install a body control module or an aftermarket programmable canbus or if there are potentially aftermarket setups that allow me to make this work (highly unlikely)?

Please let me know if anyone has tips or tricks!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240620/5662d698e36f9432544aec8d45c8a675.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240620/97363f13d7a5c3be17e917c73eed9b11.jpg

I can give you some advice on the steering wheel buttons, for everything else you’ll need to do some canbus sniffing and figure it out.

simplest way for steering wheel radio controls is going to be: b9 buttons for that wheel -> lin2.0 to lin1.3 conversion module -> through the clock spring -> into an 8p steering control module. that will output the canbus signals you’ll need to control a radio, whether that be an RNSE or other head unit that accepts standard canbus controls. This is what I do for C5 retrofits and b5’s or other audis that don’t have a can gateway.

Beautiful, thank you so much for the info, I have an aftermarket radio on order that will accept canbus, so that should be okay. I'll look into the conversion from 2.0 to 1.3.
