Full disclaimer, this is the first time I'm doing brakes since I bought the car and I am finding some inconsistencies in information for rotor and pad sizes.

The brake indicator on the dash came on, so I'm looking for options to replace the OEM pads and rotors on my 2016 S6. After research on here, it seems that Akebono ceramics and EBC red stuff are the two low-dust options that most folks have pursued. However, I can't seem to find any Akebono front pads anywhere, only the rears. Also, when looking up pads, it mentions the size rotors they're compatible with, which don't align with the stated 400mm front discs that come on the car. I mostly only see 356 or 320 mm being listed and I believe the rears are 356mm.

I'm hoping to get some clarity on disc and pad sizes since the ones I see for the fronts don't really correlate with the Audi Parts website. So...
(1) where to folks get 400mm front pads from Akebono or other types or are they no longer available?
(2) if 400mm aren't the correct stated size for rotors or pads, please convey.

Thanks in advance.

I looked for a week and it seems everyone is out of highly wanted 400mm brake pads. I ended up purchasing Hawk fronts and Powerstop Z26s rear. I'm hoping they'll do the job.

I don't think Akebono makes front pads for the 400mm S6 rotor. I've read that the Powerstop Z26 ceramics are a very good option for low dust, or EBC red stuff. I will be going with those on my next pad change.

new to the S6 as well
Do all S6 come with 400mm rotors?
Brembo pads any good?
