Had a new sachs Xtend clutch kit with a clutch master steel single mass FW installed. Also did the SS line.

Clutch engagement is very jerky now. I try to let off the clutch very slowly and when the disc catches the FW, it’s not smooth.
When driving spirited, it feels good. Slow take offs, creeping in a parking lot are now a bit rough.
Have about 1,500 miles on the new clutch so far.
Otherwise, clutch itself feels great.
With the SS line and SMFW, 2 methods of damping have been removed. In hindsight, I should have waited on the SS line.

Any input, or others with similar experience?

I also have a jxb linkage and ecs short shifter

It's the single mass flywheel. They chatter and are very touchy when the clutch is disengaging. I have had 3 B8/8.5 S4's and I won't use anything but a OEM or OEM replacement flywheel. Anything else makes it feel like SH*T on the street.

Would the SS line or a single mass FW cause the largest difference vs the oe style parts?

I’m assuming you did a SS line with a oe DMFW.

The single mass fw feels better revving the engine, feels a bit more “free” as it’s a bit lighter.
Slight chatter noise up to 2500 rpm.
