Hi there I'm wondering if anyone has experience pulling the radiator on B8.5 S4's and if it is know how much trans fluid will be lost?

After my deer strike car was fixed up, but it's gaps were off. Shop says it's frame is tweaked and is trying to get the insurance to do a set, measure and frame pull. Apparently the radiator and A/C condenser have to be removed. I'm worried that it has a radiator intercooler for auto trans fluid and that some will be lost. I'm not sure I trust a body shop to understand a DSG completely so I'm going to ask them to check the trans fluid level from the fill plug & top it off with OEM fluid since we have no dipstick for the trans.

Read the maintenance thread on DSG. This can’t be done without the proper diag tools to measure temp of the fluid as you refill/top off. The stock radiator does have lines from the DSG going to it for an integrated cooler. Not sure how much is in there, but it will need to be either drained and refilled all the way or topped off if you recently had the service done.

I do have the VAGCOM to do all the temp checking and that good stuff. Question is if the Body SHOP knows about any of this. I just checked with them and they said they do and only use OEM on Audis. But I'm going to probably take it to a rack and check the levels myself once I get it back. DSG is too expensive not to double check fluid on. Most cars will puke about a quart or two from the inter-cooler and lines being disconnected. No idea on these special cars. If they were German specific shop they'd probably do a total drain/refill and charge for it too.
