Greetings Audizine,
Up for sale is my 2002 Audi S6 Avant. I purchased this car on eBay in September of 2019 with just over 140,000 miles. It's now showing close to 160,000 miles.
As if being a 2002 S6 Avant stateside wasn't rare enough, this one comes with pretty moderate hail damage. I would absolutely love to turn this into a rally-esq build, but I have way too many cars right now. Prior to the tensioner issue (mentioned below), the car had just performed flawlessly on a drive from Cleveland, Ohio to Fayetteville, WV. I want this car to go to an Audi enthusiast.
Apart from regular oil changes, I did a number of maintenance items:
New brake rotors and pads
Replaced the driver's door lock actuator to correct an issue with sticking
Replaced starter
Added a Pioneer head unit with Android Auto and Apple Carplay (will include stock radio)
In the name of full disclosure, the car has a broken chain tensioner on the drivers side. I'm listing it for sale with the intention of having it fixed before handing over the keys to the buyer.
I will sell the car as-is, or with the stock wheels with Blizzaks mounted for an additional $1,000 on the purchase price.
Here's the previous for-sale writeup from when I bought the car in 2019:
Up for sale is my S6 Avant grocery getter. This car has an aftermarket Miltek exhaust, top of the line window tint, extensive service history and has had a bunch of work done to it
within the last few years. I bought it a little over a year ago from a family in Colorado who put about $11K(!) into the car and replaced a bunch of parts including timing belt/water
pump, transmission seals, control arms, steering rack, brakes and many other parts. Since I purchased the car, I have replaced the catalytic converters, rebuilt the passenger side
front axle which had a torn boot, replaced various vacuum lines and installed upgraded aluminum intake manifold adjuster sprockets and arms from Gruvenparts. I also just
replaced the coolant expansion tank and vent lines as they were starting to show some signs of cracking and also replaced the battery this Spring with an Audi battery. Also just
completed an oil change and brake flush. I have many of the original service records and there is also a record of the transmission being replaced when the car had around 110K miles. This car does have moderate hail damage, and has its share of scratches, dings and interior wear but it is mechanically very sound. I have taken it on several family trips and have driven it multiple times across the state in 110+ degree temperatures and have never had an issue. This
car is an absolute boss on the highway - it just pulls and pulls and feels rock solid at 90+ MPH. 340 HP is no joke - this car is a lot of fun if you choose to drive it with a sense of
AC blows ice cold. No check engine lights or fluid leaks. This isn't accurate. Car has CEL on for O2 sensor.
I am selling because this is my 4th car and it is just not getting driven. As much as as I hate to part with it, I'd rather see it go to a good home that will drive it and appreciate it.
Clear title in hand and ready for immediate sale.
Known issues:
Hail damage - cosmetic only
Rear hatch door lock actuator is intermittent
Climate control unit defaults to Celsius every time you start the car (you can set it to Fahrenheit by holding down recirc and one of the fan buttons)
There's a tear in the leather on the upper driver's side seat bolster.
Crack on bottom lip of front bumper that has been structurally repaired but has not been bondo'd/painted (barely noticeable) - This repair failed and the bottom of the front bumper cover failed with it.
Asking $6,000 without the winter wheels and tires, and $7,000 for them included in the sale.
