New to owning an audi but not new to modifications on cars or wrenching things myself. No warranty on my car so I'm free to do as I please. I have a Audi A6 quattro 3.0T prestige. I know the main things I need for performance like Heat Exchanger, Center support bearing, Intake, and exhaust. I plan in the future to buy IE Tunes for the ECU and TCU. However I really want to work with the sound 1st. Nothing crazy but i wanna hear my engine crackles and pops. Any suggestions for What exhaust pieces I should start with or not touch? Like Midpipes, Downpipes, Cats, suitcase res, or mufflers. Any help would be great.

Moved to (what I think is) the proper forum.

If you have a 2016 you can update the MMI system to have wired carplay or android auto. If you have a 2012-2015 you can buy an aftermarket carplay box or just replace the display with an RSNAV or similar Android powered display (which also include carplay or android auto).

Buying OBD11 or Rosstech VCDS will let you activate gauge needle sweep, key fob to open/close windows and stuff like that - see VAGCOM mod list post.

Go for IE/034/JHM for ECU/TCU tune. I recommend doing a transmission adaptation reset if you tune yourself. I noticed clunky shifting after swapping from APR to 034. The transmission adaptation reset solved my problems. Shop that had put APR tune on mine did the transmission adaptation reset after years ago.

Any legit tune wont have a "popcorn" option as they are not really good for the car. Between shift a pop yes, off throttle maybe a crackle but that's it. You want that popcorn thing go buy something cheap so you don't feel so bad when it blows up.

Honestly, before you do anything else you should get a VCD or obd11 that way you can fully communicate with your car and unlock things that aren’t “available“ in America
