So a particular member, A665 says I was leaving a lot of unused performance on the table by not tuning my Zf 8-speed...
I've been driving Audi cars exclusively for the past 40 years, and I've had many transmission blues, especially with the C3 models. So messing with the slushbox is something that gives me pause for sure.
However, everyone says how great a TCU tune is, so I did some research and tried to get a local tuner shop to tune me. I settled on JHM or 034. Ended up with the 034 tune to mate with the APR UC tune.
I got up early this morning, 2am MST, downloaded the software, got my Laptop charged, found the trickle charger. I flashed my TCU, it took 5 minutes, maybe less. All I can say is WOW!
I thought my iteration of the 3.0t (SC) was quick. Now it's fast. I'm blown away at how responsive power delivery is, 60 -100 is a little more than a blink of an eye. I'm much more than satisfied.

How's the downshifting?
How is it when you come upon a curve and just grab a coupla gears to settle the chassis and get some engine braking?

Wondering this too. I would love to see some videos of it in sport mode as well as manual mode.

Well, I guess I also didn’t take much convincing. After reading this I decided to get a TCU tune from 034. Looking forward to this!

I drove my car stock for quite a while, thinking that it was plenty quick & fast enough. Then I got the 034 TCU tune (on sale) to get rid of the sluggish factory shift schedule. Loved the results of the TCU tune so much that I decided to go for their Stage 1 ECU tune only about a month later.
Mild under part-throttle; pretty beastly under full throttle; always responsive with perfectly timed shifts. Went from feeling like a pretty quick car to a quasi-supercar.

Ive had APR’s ECU stage 1 for about 3 years now and enjoyed it alot! 034 offered me a nice discount to switch to their ECU/TCU tunes, between that and reading this post I can’t wait wait to try out this TCU tune. It’s given me a reason to finally getting around to installing the 034 transmission/drivetrain inserts Ive been meaning to put on.

This is really like another stage! It makes you like an old car over again.
(my C7 does not look old)
