I have a 2013 Audi s5 with 70k miles. I’ve called a good amount of shops and the cheapest I have found is $750 for full DSG service. That’s for the internal filter as well as the external. I’ve gotten many quotes for $900-$1200. I think that’s insane any thoughts? Should I keep looking? I can do the DSG service at a shop for $560 but that’s just the external filter. How important is it to do the pan gasket and internal filter? How much did you guys pay? I live in Modesto, California. Thanks!!!!

Best route is to do all, definitely interior filter. Buy kit for $250 +/- and get reputable Indy Audi ship to do.
I get it done for about $300 providing kit

I took my '14 RS5 to a highly recommended indy shop here. He didn't tighten the external filter housing all the way. So it blew all the fluid out, on the highway, while moving 65 mph...waiting on a new transmission from Germany now.
Price was great. $650...wasn't worth the savings though.

The cost is pretty outrageous which is why I ordered the kit and will be doing it myself.
It's not that bad a job... definitely not $500-700 in labor bad.

^ One note... several people in the comments mentioned cycling through the gears while it was warming up before doing that final fill when it hits 40C. Also of note, if you're going to gravity fill be careful where you run that fill hose because the cats are going to get VERY hot while waiting for the trans to come up to temp. Make sure that hose it tucked in away from the cats. I'm skipping the gravity fill and will be using the gear fluid pump I use on my boat outdrive to fill it from under the car.
