C7 (2014) S6 Flat Bottom Retrofit Advice

Hoping somebody with experience can chime in with the best solution on this project.

I'd like to swap the round heated steering wheel in my 2013 S6 for a flat bottom design.

What's the easiest route here, getting my hands on a steering wheel from C7 RS7? Can I swap my airbag over for a direct fit or do I need to source an airbag along with it?

Is there a reputable aftermarket company that makes a direct fit under $1000?

I want to program the wildcard button for drive select after the swap.

Flat wheel is simple swap. Your round wheel airbag will NOT work. You need flat wheel airbag. (Yes they ARE different)

Would still like to know what would be the best donor wheel to use while keeping it as simple as possible.

Just depends on what you'd like. The RS flat bottom wheels are very nice with the air leather.

Or the S-line wheel with combo smooth and perforated leather there is also the "S" FB wheel which is all smooth.

Go to Alex at Europrice. He has all of the mentioned configurations, but it's more than a grand.
You can check the classifieds and or eBay. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a deal, especially from Europe.

So any C7/C7.5 flat bottomed wheel WITH the airbag will work?

And as long as it has the * or D/S button I should be able to code it through OBD11 and the MMI menu to change through my drive select?

you could get something like this on ebay
it fits the original c7 round wheel air bag. i currently have one and picked black perforated leather, black stitching

Any FBSW from the A6/S6/A7/S7/RS7 from a C7/7.5 model will be a direct swap.

I don’t recommend the ‘re-manufactured’ round to flat bottom wheels, they just look weird [o_o]

Ideally you will want to purchase with the Airbag if possible. Used airbags are a bit of a minefield, as while they may all look similar, they differ across model ranges single stage/duel stage firing, and use different keyed plugs to connect to the wheel boss.

Be very wary if purchasing a bag from eBay, I got caught out that way. Most sellers don’t have a clue what they are selling, and will tell you it fits everything!

Yes any wheel with bag will work.

Buttons are isolated and it doesn't matter which you have. You CAN NOT code DS button, you MUST have the physical DS button if you want DS.
