Hey guys it was a bitch to get in, but the seat is now in place. airbag light is on but thats because i cant find a 4.7 ohm resistor. I also tried to look for a 3 and 5 ohm resistor, but no love at radio shack.

anyway here are the pics of the seat. Im still debating if i want to put in the passenger seat.

Nice pod and I think you should put in the other seat.

i just dont think my passengers would find them very comfortable, but i am thiniking about putting it in. i also want to buy a black 60mm gauge for the pod.

Looks good, I think you should put the other seat in though. It looks somewhat incomplete without matching seats.

yea, i think i will be putting in the other seat soon. maybe tomorrow. Not sure if i have the time right now. getting the driver seat in took alot longer than i thought, that was the accident side of the car, so i wonder if that was why i had a problem getting the seat in the rails. I had to make some adjusments to the brackets to get them to finally fit. Washers did the trick.

does the b pillar get in the way of the seats?

any girl that gets in your passenger racing seat will immediately want to have sex with you. do it.

Im pretty sure it gets in the way. I have a Sparco, it definitely gets in the way~

Oh, my Sparco is for sale too with custom brackets as well.

yea these are definatley bucket seats. my only gripe avbout them is that it is hard to get in and out of the car with. Im afraid of sitting on the bolsters and ruining the alcantara. So when i get out of the car i look all stupid. hahaha i kinda leap out. Once you get all situated in the seat, you are NOT moving at all.

So far i love it.

I'd prefer it in leather to look a bit more elegant, but the alcantara is nice too. I love the look of racing seats in german sendans, just too hawt

i think most of the affordable leather seats look like crap. all the ones that are affordable, the leather looks bad. i too will miss the leather look, but i think its well worth it. =) the weight of the seats are totally noticable when handling them one after another.

You dont need to find those resistors, you can use a higher resister but will just have to put a few together like I posted in my picture on your other thread. When you put resistors in parallel the resistance drops to the avg OHM of the resistors. So if you put two 5's then it becomes 2.5 or if you put a 10 and 5 it drops to 7.5 ohm. I need 2.5 ohm but could only find 10's so I put 4 to drop it down to the 2.5 I needed and it worked just fine.

mike i will go ahead and try that. What is the procedure on the vag com to remove the airbag light. do you do it the same way as if your clearing codes.

arizona steve, im keeping my stock seats.

Ron, i love your 280z in the sig. thats my next car with an edelbrock chevy small block v8 and all the goodies.

mike-2ptzero
10-09-2006, 08:42 AM
Yes, just clear the codes with the vag after you are all done installing the resistors.

Mike, so after i fix the resistors, and i clear the codes, if i start up the car and the codes are gone, are they pretty much never going to show up again. From what i understand, if after all the research is that if you dont do the airbag delete mod correctly, as soon as you start up the car, the airbag light comes on. So i guess i just want to know that if i start up the car and the airbag light stays off, if its a for sure fix. Im going to go to radio shack and buy 10 ohm resistors and use 3 on each side. that should lower the resistence to roughly 3.5-4.25 right.

Thanks guys, btw ill get the pics of the brackets up for you later today. i will also weigh myself holding the stock seat and weigh myself holding the momo seat to see an exact wieght difference. First i will weigh myself without anything 3 times to get a base figure. im guessing i saved roughly 25-30 pounds per seat.

It's actually (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2) to get resistance of 2 resistors in parallel.

For 2 resisters of the SAME value, it will always be half, and the equivalent resistance will always be lower than the lowest resistor used (3 and 5 ohms would get you 1.875)

Nice seats, are you able to slide the seat all the way back like stock?

nizmosx
10-09-2006, 01:40 PM
yea i can slide the seats as i please. however i am kind of short (five foot 8 inch) so i normally just leave the seats close up. The b piller can get in the way but from the position i have my seat it is fine.

what seats are those?

nizmosx
10-09-2006, 01:59 PM
they are 1 peice momo rsgt seats. they are somewhat new in the momo seat line. The popular seat before was called the momo start seat. but affter it got its face lift they stiched a giant logo on it and i didnt care for it. i have had my eyes out on these seats for a while. If you are a slender individual these seats are amazing. For those of you who really like how these seats look, you can get them in a reclineable version which are called the momo rsgt 2.

These seats are reasonably priced. The rsgt is around 300-350 a seat new and the rsgt2 is about 450-480 depending where you look. i got them through a friend for a good price, so if anyone is interested you can let me know and i can see what i can do.

Nice, gauge pod is awesome, did you make? if so how did you do it?

cheers

nizmosx
10-10-2006, 08:22 AM
Yes i made the gauge pod. It started out as a subaru sti pod, I basically reformed it to fit the dash of the a4, and bored out the diameter of the gauge opening to fit my gauge. Friend with an sti didnt want it anymore so he gave it to me. It took hours with a dremel and bondo. once it was sanded and smoothed, i primed it and painted it flat black and it hasnt yet faded.

BTW THE OTHER SEAT IS IN........

d_maniac the seat is very comfortable, and if you like to LEAN BACK.. just get a reclinable seat. The seat is offered in a reclinable, but the weight it almost around the stock seats weight so i saw that as pointless. This seat is around 20 pounds. Not the lightest of the bucket seats but still light compared to stock. My corbeaus im selling are 16 pounds, and i believe mikes are 13 pounds. You cant get that out of a reclineable seat.

Don't put in the pass. seat. GUT IT!

lol jp. looks damn good! Did you have to do some custom bi-to-monorail seat rails? My seats sit on a central rail... [confused]

nizmosx
10-10-2006, 09:38 AM
i had to put lots of washers and bolts to space out the slider brackets. sounds weird but it was NOT a plug and play thing. it took me an hour and 30 mins to get the passenger seat in. Once you get the seat in the car, you realize you need another washer somewhere. you take the seat out of the car put the washer in, put the seat back in the car. Then you realize it still wont fit, and you need to do that process again 6 times. =P all i know is its a done deal now

What a hassell. but well worth it.
