So it's been a couple of weeks since my A6 C7.5 accelerates a bit on idle when I run the car in the morning to work. The RPM needle goes up by a tiny distance and the car actually revs up on its own for a second, without pressing the gas pedal.

I'm curious to what it can be?

In my experience i think that’s normal, as a newbie wrencher ive chalked that up to warming up the systems in the car so that the heat/AC works immediately. I also think it might be to get the supercharger prepped in case you turn on the car and floor it [emoji28]

To be fair all cars have a higher acceleration when the car cold starts and then revs down to its normal idle

They always start at a higher rev at cold starts. Within about 30 seconds or so they drop back down. It’s for preheating catalytic converter or some other emissions thing.
