Hello from the B5 S4 forum. I've been getting an itch to get a new daily, and it led me to the S5 Cab. These motors seem to be reliable to tunable? I'm looking at higher mirage examples around 100-125K miles. At this mileage the PCV might need to be replaced? What's the labor cost on that?
My thoughts were to do a Stage 2 - dual pullies, and exhaust\downpipe. I think thats about as much as I want to do performance wise. I'll need to replace worn suspension components to.

I have a 14 cab I got in 17 and love it. Got it with 48k and now have 156k
Can’t give you costs. I am sure searching the forums you can get ranges
If you know the S4 and the 3.0, typically there are some common maintenance items at the 90-100 +/- mark. They are all under the supercharger so might as well get them done
PCV
Thermostat (mine stuck at 75)
Water pump
Supercharger oil
Carbon clean time is around 80k
Some or all may have been done when you fine a car. Hopefully records may be available
When you find a cab, particularly on early examples, the rear glass may be coming away from the top They can be DIY repaired. Also the headliner may be sagging. It is also repairable (mine is coming loose)

The 3.0t has shown to be a pretty reliable and tuneable motor. I've got a RS5 and a '13 S5 3.0t. Can't beat the sound of the RS5 but I do really like the low end torque of the 3.0t (mines a stg2). I'm glad Neil's Cab has been reliable as I recently got a '16 A5 Cab for my daughter and was a little worried about the convertible top as it looks to be fairly complicated compared to the old '01 tt I use to have.
