View Full Version : Anyone Running Jackal C7.5 A6 3.0T Software?

I just picked up a 2018 A6 3.0t Competition Package and am considering different ECU/TCU tune options. Being the C7.5 has a bit of a different Engine/ECU setup than the pre facelift variants, I am considering options for tuning. IE appears to have done some extensive work on their C7.5 files. Jackal Motorsports also lists their C7/C7.5 files as one in the same. Curious if anyone has run the Jackal software on a C7.5 3.0t specifically, if so what're your thoughts? If I can't find any solid reviews, I'll probably just go IE out of caution.

You wont find reviews yet on the C7.5 3.0t for Jackal "yet". the tunes for Stage 1 and Stage 2 are done Dyno wise but finishing up the street part of it is always the best part. We have an A7 with the same motor in the shop now and are finishing up the rest of tuning. Its straight forward after you tell all the systems in the car what your doing is ok, but this ECU has a lot more Nanny's. Don't want anyone misleading you saying its good or bad. I am the tuner.

Cool deal, I appreciate the response. I actually already have one of your flashing cables I picked up from my buddy (Jason with the AM Tuned/VF blower b6 s4). I'll keep my eyes peeled for your new files! We do have an inhouse AWD dynojet so I could do some before/after tune runs as well.

Always looking for more validation on the work we do. Reach out to matt or myself and we can figure something out for sure.

I have the same car, running stage 1 with 034 Motorsports. Gives me smiles every time I mash accelerator, no hiccups. I think most stage 1 tunes will give you similar power so you can’t go wrong with any that are available. I’d lean towards the more tried and true tuners like Apr, 034, or IE. One thing to get used to is the supercharger clutch on the c7.5s cause a bit of jerkiness when it engages on light throttle from low cruising rpm’s. Although keep it in S mode and it stays engaged 100% of the time.
I made the mistake of going with EPL on my wife’s q5 and now they’re out of business with any flashing support. So I’m stuck with stage 1. Which is fine unless I’d want to flash stock file for some reason.

I bought the car in Texas and drove it home 2000 miles. I noticed the supercharger clutch engagement for sure. I thought it was the transmission at first, after thinking about it for a while it clicked that it was the clutched blower.
Did you upgrade your charge cooler or anything? Its hard to find definitive information on if the C7.5 needs it or not for stage 1 or single pulley tunes.

I didn't realize that when you toss it in S it doesn't try to disengage the supercharger via the clutch. That's interesting and better explains why it's seemingly smoother and a bit quicker into boost compared to D. Assume the same for Manual mode?

I can confirm that it still disengages in dynamic mode (quite harshly btw) [>_<], but I haven't tried S mode.

Ha! Are you calling manual mode dynamic mode? I can't keep up with the new car lingo... My true manual mode is my 2000 S4 [:)]

I can confirm Stage1 and Stage 2 when released doesn't have any jerkiness. The tune was built around keeping the SC locked like the older versions. Stay tuned.

Sorry, I'm not. Dynamic mode meaning the drive select function. Was just saying in dynamic vs comfort the engagement/disengagement of the SC is pretty noticeable.
I also have a b5 s4, true manual mode indeed :).

Any timeline for when the tune for the c7.5 will release? I don't want to go with IE just to switch to you guys later on.

CREC mapping for basic Stage1 and Stage2 are done. We have broken the tune out in 2 categories for now 1) Stock SC locking scheme, you step on it it engages but its open cruising. 2) Locked SC. It locks after startup and runs like our BFF's the previous generation. Cool SC noises like they should be and it stops all the Clutch from wearing.
Once our logger is released in the next week I will have unlimited logs im sure and can finish up this platform for all of you! If you have any specific requests on this platform we will build it in, just note as you see cool stuff come out for Simos 8 which is the previous generation, know our intentions are always to move them to your platform after.

That's great news! Are you working on an E85 tune as well?

The rest of the updates for this platform will have to wait while we go through the sponsor process, i didn't realize i was breaking the rules by responding here. Stay tuned

Alright now that we are officially official here we can start releasing cool stuff to come for the platform. You will notice we have been working on Map Switching for Simos 8.x which doesn't help the CREC crew as your on Simos 16.x. What i will say is there will be map switching coming immediately after we finish it for Simos 8.x or... it will be flex related we are breaking down a couple ECU's following a hunch. In the meantime yes as we go through each stage with the shop car we will be maxing 93/e40/e85 just for completeness, until the fueling wont keep up stock HPFP and so on. at that point it will be limited for whoever is flashing to E40 unless they have upgraded to the HPFP as well. no exceptions on this. We have a lot to do and a lot of dyno tuning to get this the way we want it. As we do updates on records we should or will set we will let you know what mods we have as well. The point of all the tunes we do is repeatability there is no use gutting the car to make numbers that don't make sense. We also will not be dabbling with any type of ignite or race fuel to make the shop car faster then it is. The numbers are the numbers... I'm sure someone else with a fresher setup will run faster times... but at 112k on this car i think its a great candidate to set all our baselines. We will also be opening a thread under this platform for anyone to track the progress on the platform. Things in addition that are coming is the logger, that will be key. Functionally it works now we just have some tweaking to the values to get them right. It will then be built into our application to send logs back to our team for help with issues. Super long answer for if we are going to do E85 but i needed to wait until we were official so i didnt get booted off Audizine.

Got our Shop A6 update on the main CREC thread i created today. After some tweaking to the tuning we got our stage1 down to 4.0 0-60. Still working for 3.8 but its still warm out with a high DA. Mods include just an Intake from CTS. Tune is now available for all stage 1 CREC and TCU's on our website and as i make progress on E40 / E85 tunes on the dyno i will release the information in the CREC thread. Great things to come.

Uh, will the 93 tune play nice with 91/92? In some regions 93 premium is actually tough to find, in the PNW stations commonly top out at 91/92.

can u get e85 near yu?
2 gallons of e85 plus fill up of 91 shuld be damn close if not higher octane then 93

Jackal doesn’t have an E85 tune yet. When they do I would let others test it out for a while before purchasing. IE has a stage 1 e85 and it’s amazing. I have it in mine with no issues at all. Makes 506hp crank.
I have a feeling the tenth of a second faster Jackal claims is due to shifting at 7200 which makes sense. I believe my IE shifts at 7k so that adds up for the 1.5mph difference between the two.
I would be curious to see comparison dyno number from both on the same map.
I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either but I prefer IE with their TCU which is also paired. Good luck either way you go!

Unfortunately e85 is even rarer than 93. There are only two gas stations near Seattle that offer e85 and they are both 30+ miles away.

im in the same boat. 2 or 3 e85 stations through out all Massachusetts. the one closest to mei have to go to boston to get. its aboit 1 hour each way........
straight bull shit.
buti bring 2, 5 gallon gas tanks . put 2 gal in my car plus the 10 to take home gets me 5 full tanks of the mix

Yes thats what we do to. We use the one in Canton bring 4-5 VP Jugs and then mix to the ratio we need in the car to fill the tank. Its really why we havent focused on a full e85 tune cause its like finding the end of the rainbow to get it. But the tune will be out soon enough. still got a bit more tuning to do and then ill let Matt take the A6 again to get some final 0-60 numbers on 93. he typically gets another .2 0-60 faster because he is half the weight and doesnt keep the car full....
