This is the second time I saw this code during reading. Both times they were classified as inactive. No CEL ever.

I found out about this code when I was playing with my toy: an ELM 327 OBD II. A reading of DTC showed this inactive code:

Status: Test failed since last DTC clear, Test not completed during this operation cycle

Cleared the code, and one week later, read DTC again and found same code - inactive again, on 2023.06.30, at 122 k km.

Should I worry? Does it auger badly to some dark future of the engine?

Engine is 1.8 CJEB - gen 3

I have investigated further and found these intriguing facts:

Both times: 5 minutes into the driving; similar oil temperature (13 vs 18 C), coolant temperature (62 vs 88 C), speed (41km/h vs 42 km/h), engine load value of 14-15% and RPM (950 vs 968).

Check the connection at the cam position sensor. Seems odd it happens while driving and could it be when you let off the accelerator? Almost seems like it based on engine load and RPMs.

If connector and wiring look good, swap the sensor and start there.

Thanks. It's certainly when I let off accelerator driving through school zone, that explains the speed of around 40km/h.

Nothing odd looking is found around wiring, and code has not come back. I will build a few more Ks on the engine to see what happens next.
