Hello I am starting this thread to share my experience with making a good sound exhaust system after removing the stock cats that doesn't have any rasp or drone without breaking the bank.
The car setup is Audi A6 2012 with 207mm pulley, HX, 034 intake, gutted cats and 034 tunes.
It all started when I wanted to remove the cats and had ordered testpipes that ended up not fitting (they were hitting the cabbin) so I scrapped that idea and gutted the cats out. The car was sounding pretty bad so after reading a few posts ended up ordering a magnaflow 11385 x-pipe to replace the stock small resonators. The site that I ordered it from couldn't import it (living in EU) and I didn't want to wait one month more to import myself so I ordered this cheaper replacement from Poland (Center Muffler 57mm from TurboWorks). It came and the quality was pretty good, after putting it the car started sounding a bit better with no rasp or drone while driving http://youtube.com/shorts/3hy6MwCHNJY?feature=share - sound check . However that wasn't enough for me, I was sceptical about removing the rear mufflers so the next move was to remove the stock suitcase muffler. Now that I got used to the sound and it doesn't sounds fun anymore, so am looking for new alternatives, removing the rear mufflers is what I am thinking but am not sure whether that can make the car undriviable long distances. I am addicted to the crackle tune that 034Motorsports offers and making them even lounder would be the goal for me. Another thing that I am chasing is the upshift DSG-like fart noise. Right now I barely get it when shifting from 1-2 or 2-3 with low throttle otherwise I cannot hear the sound even a little bit .Do you guys have any ideas what would happen or if any of you are running a simillar setup I would love to hear your opinions [:)].
