so, the 31k miles is a 2016 S6 premium plus, with Driver's Assist, for $35k. it's a very pretty red, which i like
The 81k miles is also a 2016 S6 prestige, with driver's assist, comfort seating, sport, black optics, and Bang and Olufsen sound, for $31k. it's gray/silver, which is also nice, bnut not as good as the red.
both are California cars.
like the prestige with options better, but the 81K miles does worry me.
any thoughts?

I'd buy the lower mile one personally. You can always retrofit options if you like them, but you can't retrofit lower miles without more $$

i would go for the higher miles. Maintenance, thats easy. Retrofitting is an option but most of the good stuff is just not practical to retrofit.

This.
Buy the better optioned car. Providing it was reasonably well maintained.

Sometimes older, lower mileage cars aren't always the best option. A car that sits for an extended period of time could require some initial up-keep/maintenance. Obviously after that, lower miles is best, especially if you are planning to keep the car for an extended amount of time and/or resale.
Depends on: how much you drive; maintenance records; options you want. 81k miles would not worry me for a '16, if properly maintained. Either way, both will have a higher regular/unplanned maintenance cost, so just make sure you budget for that.

Prestige for the C7.5 hands down.
more creature comforts you may not really pay attention to, but the hud/etc are night and day if you have ever driven either.
Im a 16 S6 Prestige with BO, NV, CW, Sport, DA. My previous 16 S6 was Prestige, BO, CW, DA, B&O
I only gained NV in the recent upgrade, and lost B&O....which is nice, but I have an added in Sub which makes up for the audio element that the Bose system is missing.
These cars (4.0TT) will go 200+ with proper maintenance and upkeep. Especially being a CA car.
As ABB said, retrofitting things into the better optioned car is nearly impossible for a 1:1 swap in....lots of coding and headaches....like you cannot just drop in B&O to a Bose setup.
my only detractor is the comfort seats, but thats a personal choice from me
HUD is a full dash swap and a coding nightmare

what's wrong with the comfort seats (besides weight, i would suspect.
and yes, i had HUD on my BMW M4, and it was definitely a game changer.

I dont like the way they hold
I drive like an idiot and hoon when I get into a corner....so I like to be contained.
but I will say that the comfort seats on long trips/commute are night and day

that's fair. i'm a track girl, and i used to track my M4 quite a bit, and seat hold is important. not sure i would track the S6, though.

spirited driving as well.
BUT
its super easy to swap in S6 sport seats, and we know a couple of the team here (Viet, and now Cameron) who know a thing or two about swapping in the seats and working the modules to conform to your car spec

Bruh, they don't make Kirkley seats wide enough to contain you!

options are always the way to go! sport seats are great looking but i prefer ventilated for long trips or hot days and i have my side bolsters squeezed in enough to give support and trust me i drive like a complete idiot and have not had a problem sliding around
