As per a previous thread, my 2013 A7 MMI screen doesn’t work. It isn’t the power wires to the screen nor the fuse so I thought I’d purchase a replacement screen and fit it, hoping that it would fix the problem.
The non working screen in the car is part number 4G2.919.601.N I thought the last part of the part number was just a version so I purchased a screen 4G2.919.601.J assuming as it was the same series and just a year older than my car it would be the same - it wasn’t. The visible screen area is much smaller than my original screen. The housing is all the same size but there is a much bigger border round the screen. It seems to show an image unlike my original one but it is just lines and shades. As pretty much all the pictures of the screens on eBay show them in their housing, I can’t tell if the visible screen area is the same as my original screen or smaller. How can I ensure it is the correct screen? Should I just be looking at the 4G2.919.601.N screens - would that guarantee that it was the correct visible screen size?
Many thanks,
Michael
