on my way home from the girlfriends tonight minding my own business and the next thing i know an old asian lady pulls out in front of me when im doin around 45 mph. she was pulling out of a church parking lot and apparently didnt see me coming (i dont know how with my BRIGHT-ASS HID's i just installed) and i smacked her drivers side rear door/wheel. there was a car in the oncoming lane and a car behind her turning too so i had no choise but to slam on the brakes and hope i dont hit her drivers side door. when i T-Boned her i was probably doing 15-20mph (thank god i had enough time to slow down that much). thankfully i hit her rear drivers side door and missed her. i felt bad for the lady though because i yelled some explicit thoughts right when it happened and she looked like she was going to cry. everybody was ok and she got the award (ticket). as far as my car goes, you can see in the pics that it will need a new S4 front, headlight, core support, intercooler, washer fluid resivour, fender, hood, the list goes on. it buckled the very front of the frame rail so the frame will have to be pulled. hopefully she is not totalled because most of it is just cosmetic stuff. now as far as her car goes, its probably totalled. it got into her uni-body and her suspension (1996 volvo POS).

this basically sucks. i wont have my car for weeks. seems everybody on here is getting into accidents. i feel your pain now audisnapr!

Get those sides painted out when you get everything fixed up. She'll be back on her feet in no time.

yeah im wanting to respray the whole thing while its in the shop. thank god i worked at the body shop im taking it to for a few years and ive known the managers there since i was born (my pops worked at Jim Ellis Audi for 23 years which is affiliated with Jim Ellis Collision, so they are all family friends) and i might get the hook-up with some stuff i need/want done while she is in there.

Ouch, I have no idea how she didn't see you with the HIDs.. I can see them out of the corner of my eye about a mile away [confused]

I'm still a newb but what's that box in the middle of your front bumper, radar detector maybe?

I seriously think its the week of accidents.. not only people on audizine, but my friends too!

but within the past month... my friends rx7 was totaled, a vr4-t 3000gt, and I got rear ended.

well at least you saw it coming and nobody got hurt. Old people don't have the reflexes like us and well stuff happens. Same things will happen to us if we still have to drive cars by that age. Take this oppurtunity to take our car one step further

yeah its K-40 radar detector. if you look close enough you can see the receiver box for it too haning down under the intercooler duct.

haha this has turned into a wrecked car thread. keep the the pics comming [drive]

looks like i come out better in the end because i was going to get my hood repainted in a couple weeks, but now she has to pay for it! 2 years ago i got rear-ended by an asian kid at my school and had to get a new rear bumper and deck lid. i came out better in that one too because the previous owner of my car had backed into something screwing up the bumper.

If your insurance lets you get quotes, take it places to get extremely high quotes... then take it somewhere that does good enough work for not as much... (maybe with the left over cash.... time for a FMIC...? just a thought)

AudiSport12
10-06-2006, 10:31 AM
good thought but im taking it to my body shop where i worked and i know the techs so i know it will be done right. all i want is a fixed ride.

Bumper, both fenders and driver's side door. Is an epidemic!

haha the audi gods dont seem to happy with us for some reason.

-quick question for all on my headlights... i bought the Ebay lights and put a cqlight.ca H1 HID conversion kit in them. for a replacement, the body shop is letting my purchase brand new headlamps and send the reciept to them so her insurance can pay for them. i want to get some e-codes, which are an H7 type bulb. could i just buy H7 replacement bulbs for my kit so they will work with the e-codes? i dont knwo much about the kit i bought, i had pops install them for me so i dont know how they are wired and what have you

10-06-2006, 06:00 PM

Haha jeez... this is one painful thread to read through. I've been in an accident too but I was the luckiest of all of you. It was the other persons fault and all it did to my car was put a couple little scratches on my rear bumper and rim that I buffed out [:D]

And the old guys' 1990 POS T-Bird haha...
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f328/CaSp3r9/PICT0035-1.jpg

Here's another one that I was in... It's my friends BMW, he was driving and I was riding shot gun. I totally saw the whole thing coming and it was actually kind of awkward because when we crashed, I hit my head on the dash (no airbags) and immediately started laughing while he was flippin out. He rearended a 2002 Dodge 2500HD truck, we essentially went under the back of the truck. It's too bad, that was one sick beemer....
