I tried a search but couldnt find anything specifically.

I have a fine grain open pore brown trim pieces in my a7, and wanted it to be more black wood similar to link below

https://www.ebay.com/itm/374504766610?hash=item5732393c92:g:QGEAAOSwq5pj5ST b&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8L7s2%2Bo8UCKKlaUS1mFT83Buzjf BCC%2BgwlCcZ5SYaEmIBWiVvIxb9kgMXftzCPtGl23gRkM4FNy RCZ8UbgZWfShukdMwla6m83QIPDUAdqnt6qGyGbXD798KfIZAM SoEQbXo%2B6XxV1ybZgBqwc206meat0HqOzLX%2BGGeh9ZYveB Sm2jRAvb5Tin3LiIFfiH9Lnpa6RckOr9xB16PbKt7PxA0c684W 6h%2BAAVFt26qsLBa3ITpkJJQXeAPU7Z2R0Moj1ccXmgkkvTYk Bmr8xCmwI8vUPRibtIMsXXSEVx%2BRSMkgL%2BGvIc1TvwipCY Bd6iRgw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMsNqp-_Nh

i know it wont look exactly like that since the grain is one direction, but brown isnt my favorite color. i know i could get vinyl wrap similar to the above link but i still like the feel of the wood, just want it black.

Wanted to see if anybody was successful in staining their wood trim pieces and if they have pics/process/best practices

I don't think it's real wood.

If you’re talking about what comes in the car, yes it is.

It's veneer.

If you have the natural brown ash, the black color in the C8 is painted, not stained. If you painted it black, you'd still see the wood grain. It would look nice.

You can paint the pieces in a matte black finish, many have done this on other models with much success. You could DIY, but personally
I'd seek out a professional to do the work, I want perfection when It comes to stuff like this. Let us know how it turns out.
