Is anyone running this one?

If so any feedback on it?

I was going to order that one as well, but it says right in the description on 034’s site, that that mount will cause vibration, so I’m avoiding it, my S4 is my daily and I put a ton of miles on a year, don’t want that even if it tightens things up.

Well guys, I went against my word and ordered an Amazon one lol. I mean the price difference is stark for a piece of easily machined aluminum, $17!
Definitely going 034 for sway bars and new motor mounts, but that one and even the on sale CTS is crazy expensive for what they are and the fact as long as it functions and holds up, you never see it under the car, so the nicer aesthetics/finish mean nothing for this particular part.
At least I’ll be able to review that one to compare and contrast.
I’m also probably going CTS on the HX upgrade.

I have the CTS one and in my opinion it’s very good for the price. If you can catch it on a sale, it’s worth it. The core is very big and multi-pass. Very easy to install. FYI, stock pump will work with it, but you could benefit from further cooling with a CWA100-3 pump, just don’t buy it from Tecomotive if you want a replacement warranty with it.

Initially after the heat exchanger upgrade I didn’t think it would make much of a difference, but it does. The 100 just flows so much more and is able to shed more heat. You’ll also get a big bump in coolant volume with the CTS core without having to add any reservoir or anything just from hits size and end tanks it uses. For the money, it’s worth it over the other options I’ve seen offered. Good luck.

A heat exchanger upgrade will help no matter what stage you’re on… even stock it’ll improve cooling performance for sustained pulls or repetitive runs. The pump is just an added bonus. If you can find one at a good deal (less than $300) it’s worth it in my opinion.

Was going to say similar.
The guy who works on my car is an ex Audi/VW tech who owns a couple Audis including a B8 S4 which is Stage 2 and was 2+, and he recommended next time I do a service with the front clip off to do a HX upgrade even if I only go stage 1.
These cars have an intercooler the size of a brick and suffer from heat soak even stock, can’t hurt no matter what.

It’s really easy. Take front bumper cover off, take bolts out for the crash bar and pull that off. Line up the new heat exchanger with its brackets on onto the back of the crash bar and measure each side so it’s centered and pop your self-tap screws into the brackets. Mount the back back into the car and run your hoses. To make it easier, get yourself some of those plastic coolant hose plier clamps and clamp off the coolant hoses before you take off the stock heat exchanger so you don’t lose and ton of coolant and makes for a quicker/cleaner job. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
Just make sure you orient the new heat exchanger properly so that you’ve got your in and out on the correct sides and you run the hoses to the correct barb for the flow.

I think you’re fine with that. It doesn’t take much coolant to even do a full fill. Get yourself some distilled water though. Unless you’re in frozen planet land, you’re better off running a little more water than coolant anyway. It’ll keep things cooler than a perfect 50/50 mix. Still run coolant as that has the antifreeze and lubrication benefits for the water pump, but you don’t need to get crazy perfect with that mix.

Better to have too much on hand than not enough. What is the process once you get the hoses on the new HX? Because I am assuming I'm going to have more coolant capacity with the new HX so do I run the car a bit and then add coolant accordingly?

Very important to have coolant in the funnel ABOVE the height of sc and heater core hoses. And keep it there during the bleed process. I never did bleed the heater core (couldn't loosen the hose.....aargh) but ran the heat etc. I was able to successfully remove sc bleed screws w/o damaging them....using the largest Phillips head driver ( I believe it's a #4) and maintaining plenty of downward force when unscrewing. I did replace with new homemade bolts and washers. Not as difficult as it may seem once you get all set up.
I used something similar to this. To get a tighter leak proof seal to coolant reservoir, I wrapped with duct tape.

Do yourself a favor and before you even crank the engine up, hook the IC pump back up (may have forgotten to tell you to unplug it before you do your hose clamping so that you’re not fighting with it pressurizing the loop as you work) and let it prime and circulate the new HX by opening the driver door a few times. You should be able to hear water flowing through it and also bubbles starting to die down a bit if you do it a few times. Once you’ve done that for a bit and it’s sort of quieted down and it’s somewhat smooth sounding, then crank it and let it come up to temp. Keep in mind that you may need to top the coolant back up after a couple of drive cycles, so check it for the next couple of days after it sits overnight. As long as you’re not on a divorced system (doesn’t do shit anyway to improve temps), it’ll self bleed properly without much trouble.

a whole host of people re-use the existing bolts. Then there are the audi specs as described by the ECS website regarding their trans mount insert:
"This kit has everything you need for installation including new hardware to replace the torque-to-yield securing hardware installed from the factory, required to be replaced any time they are removed per Audi."
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/transmission-mount-bushing-insert-kit/009860ecs01~a/
I, personally, follow the audi recommended procedures. Nothing worse than a snapped off bolt to ruin your day.

a whole host of people re-use the existing bolts.
Nothing worse than a snapped off bolt to ruin your day.Ya so as soon as you asked me the question I went and looked and they are super cheap, the new bolts I mean. Mine did not come with new bolts, and I'm really not in a hurry to do the install...so I'm thinking I'm going to order them and use new bolts just to be safe. Because, as you said, I will be super mad at myself if I don't wait for new bolts and I end up snapping one off.

From 034:
We recommend replacing your transmission mount bolts when installing the 034Motorsport Transmission Mount Insert. This OEM, M8 x 60mm bolt is a torque-to-yield bolt and should be replaced when removed from the vehicle.

So I finally installed the 034 trans insert today. I am pretty surprised how noticeable the difference is. In all honesty, I did not think it would be much different from stock but it definitely feels better. Not just on higher rpm shifts but even just backing out of my garage and in parking lots the drive when you let off the brake is different...it feels healthier if that makes sense. It's one of those things that now that I've felt it I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. So ya I'm happy with it.

I'm sure you can make the old ones work if need be but the bolts felt soft to me, it did not feel like it would take much to snap one or to cross thread one of them. Maybe I'm wrong maybe they are plenty strong but they at least felt soft, you'll know what I mean when you take the stock insert out.
