In a upcoming project I have at my shop I will be building a very light weight B8 S4. One of the aspects of the build will be getting extreme and body parts will be going carbon fiber to drop weight. Hood, trunk, and doors. These components are very expensive to have made 1 off. If anybody has interest in having more that 1 set made so they would be available for your car I would be interested to hear from you. I would make the assumption that these will not be crash rated and for safety you should only consider installing aftermarket doors if you have a cage.

Edit I am not making these myself I will hiring a company to build them. I want to know if I am just having them made for myself only or if anybody else would want a set made for them.

No interest in personally buying a set, but if you/your shop is in the Buffalo, NY area, I'd love to see the final results when you have the finished doors if you don't mind.

My shop is in Grand Island just north of buffalo. Of course I will make a post about it when there is a update. There is a massive lead time so it will either be end of this year or maybe even into next year.

That sounds like a cool build. Do you have any ballpark numbers for weight saving and ballpark for total cost of all panels? I understand that might be difficult to impossible to know if you don't have designs for the panels but it would be interesting to know what you're expecting in weight savings generally.

find junkyard doors and strip them down.
lay fiberglass over to build the skin. clean up. add 3d printed mounting points for door hinges/door handle. clean up. hydropdip in carbon fiber.

Sweet, I’m in the Northtowns already so easy ride over or hopefully I’ll see it around at one of very few meets this season.

Sweet, I’m in the Northtowns already so easy ride over or hopefully I’ll see it around at one of very few meets this season.I was just at the Niagara Falls Convention Center Saturday night for something. I took the river parkway back out and I was thinking that Niagara/Grand Island would be a fun cruise.

Good luck on the CF doors, that sounds like a massive financial undertaking op
