Hey guys
Lurker here and usually get my answers by searching but went to test fit some TSW Bathurst 20x10 +40 for my C7 A6 and the front caliper is rubbing on the rim. I have the bigger 356mm rotors.
I found threads of shaving the caliper and replacing the spring clip screw, just wondering how much shaving is needed? Anyone else run into the same problem?
The place I'm buying these rims at are downplaying the situation and saying concave rims won't work on the c7 a6 with bigger caliper but obviously many have this fitment.
Plz help!

Why dont you just buy wheels that fit ? If more than a spacer is required its a hard pass for me !

Are you saying many have the same exact fitment as you? 20x10 ET40? That seems like a very wide wheel and high offset for the 6 platform.
IMO, Your ET40 offset paired with a 10” wide wheel is the issue. Any quality wheel company would know that. Likely should be ET32 or maybe ET37 max. Bet that 3mm difference (ET37 vs ET40) would be pretty helpful.
I would personally have the wheels shipped back before I modify the brake calipers.

Not saying many have this fitment but seen many with a 10 inch concave rim.
The Bathurst come with a +25 offset also which can help bring it out a bit but at this point I think I'm just trying to convince my self. Wanted the concave look but it's becoming a pita.

a small spacer will get you the clearance you need. ET40 is your issue. And spoke fitment.
the C7/7.5 is some chonk brake calipers

Correct, which is why custom is the way to go.

I run a 20x10 ET30 setup at all 4 corners - but keep in mind an A7 has bigger fenders than an A6.
For everyone's sanity please just order a correct offset. They are just TSW wheels- not worth sacrificing your life by shaving calipers.
This is a great opportunity to toss the TSW wheels and buy a set from a more reputable brand that won't crack at the sight of a tiny pothole.

Yea I've decided to return these and look at other options. I messed up by going 40 offset.
Looking into vossens actually. Gonna open the wallet a bit.
