looking to replace my ECU coilovers.

Any advice between KW V1 vs BC coilovers? The price difference between are about $600. But I have to think about installation, which is about $600-800 in my area + alignment.

I'll throw ST Coilovers there too, which is made by KW.

I don't track or autocross anymore, and my wife will likely start driving this car and I'll likely get another car (Viper or something else). But she hates how rough the ride is (DMV roads are like if bombs went off on the road and nobody did anything about it) and I need to figure out if BC coilovers are any good. I had them on my S2k, it was fine. I just don't know if the KW V1 is any better than BC as far as comfort - willing to take any advice from all of you experts.

I don't track my s4 either but my very pregnant wife agrees that my car w/ Bilstein b16 rides better than her '22 model y.

Bilstein b16 - I guess at $2k. Currently KW V1 is about $1800. Is it $200 better than KW V1? I like that the controls on the Bilstein is on the bottom as to no control for KW V1 on dampening.

Anybody have thoughts on this? I'm ok with Bilstein lowered less than an inch.

Easier to access and more adjustability is worth it imo. From my research Kw has spring sag issues on these platforms.

Another knock on the KW is that the spring preload and ride height do not have separate adjustment.

The Borr Chuann (BC) are moderate quality Chinese units.

If you go BC, be certain to get the Swift springs. Makes a huge difference.

BC dampers are adjustable (just by jacking up each corner) but overall more harsh than KW/ST. They definitely ride smoother than BCs
With them you'll have to deal with the soft rear springs. This may or not be an issue for you, however know that it's a likely possibility they may eventually sag enough to cause issues.

The V2s are dampening adjustable (fronts must be removed) and have linear springs (same as Swift).

Bottom BCs + Swifts are an excellent combo. However the KWs are definitely more comfortable and will be a more appropriate choice for your needs.

I just put some BC on my V70R...I will say that the dampening adjustments are night and day from hard to soft...close to soft is very comfortable...
I have some swift springs I ordered after the fact to swap into the front so I'll reserve my opinion that upgrade but...on my platform though it was a $1000
savings so that was a no brainer and ended up paying for new wheels...
