So there I was, driving down a road about 30-40mph. I was approaching a neighborhood street that cuts through the road im on, a stop sign in place for that road to stop traffic and allow me to go. I’m driving along, and this huge truck pulls out without stopping. He sees me coming and stops dead in the middle of the fucking intersection. I hit the brakes, shitty stock single piston S4 brakes lock up, I turn the wheel to avoid hitting him and then again to avoid hitting the car on the other side of the intersection (the car that had actually waited at the stop) and end up on someone’s lawn. I got out and shouted out of anger and the truck didn’t stop, so I hop back in the S4 after checking for damage and follow him back to where he works. I sit outside and then realize, I don’t have any evidence of what happened.
Get a dash cam, folks. I also could’ve been more attentive while driving, maybe not have been going so fast

Just want to point out that if the brake locked up and you ain't stopping, it's the shitty tires' problem, not the brake's problem

Car was fine somehow. Hit a very low curb at like 5 mph and the car handles the same, no noises, front bumper looks okay and tires and wheels look good. If there was damage I wouldn’t be posting this probably

I’ve got Michelin AS pilot 3s, so it’s not like they’re summer performance tires or anything but I expected a bit better

Highly recommend this garmin unit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0931YZ82P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Time stamps footage and will autosave events to permanent memory when the g-sensor detects sudden stops. Old video gets overwritten in a constant loop - get a 64gb SD card for $10 with it and that will cover 6 hours of footage at 1080p. Can be wired to run in an always on 'parking mode' or switched power.

To piggy back on the OP original statment had something similar happen once except I lost two tires when I jumped the curb because some idiot turned right - across traffic from a left turn only lane on a two lane road - it wasn't enough for him to go straight but he had to cut me off completely. He turned fortunately for me into a dead end street so I blocked his car and called the cops. Cops came and asked me if I hit him, No. Did he hit me? No? Then there was no accident and I was being an idiot for blocking traffic. Lesson learned. Hit the MEffer next time.
And the jewel was I had bought those tires like two or three days before and passed on the tire insurance.[headbang]
Ordered a car camera right after.

I was thinking the same thing afterwords. If I had a dash cam it would’ve honestly been better to just hit him. Better than missing him and then hitting something stationary and fucking up my car horribly. What state are you in? I live in NY so it’s retard central
I see from your profile you’re also in NY, my condolences.

I can also vouch for the fact that if you avoid hitting someone and crash it’s YOUR fault. I had a woman turn across my lane from the oncoming side of the road and then stop halfway across my lane cause she hesitated when she realized what she had done.
Just out of reflexes I swerved and tried to avoid hitting her at about 45mph. I ended up missing her but sideswiped a parked car right on the side of the road. Police arrived and she was crying saying how sorry she was and she didn’t see me until too late. She admitted fault in the police report.
When it came down to it I ended up with an at fault accident and had to pay my deductible to cover my vehicle as well as the parked vehicle. Your better off to stay in your lane and basically plow someone even if it’s avoidable.
