Is it possible to identify what the issue is based on the sound alone?

Car is stock (except suspension and wheels) and it was a routine drive back home. Noise started as I pulled into my garage. Sounds like a tractor, or straight pipe or something. Would blown cat(s), or something coming unplugged be the culprit?

That sounds like an exhaust leak. Flex pipes possibly.

Super duper common for the clamps joining the rear section to the mid section to rust out. Look under the car you should be able to see them. They're about under the center console. Also cheap and easy to replace.

This ^ Let it cool down and see if they are loose.

Went under the car for a better inspection. Passenger side pipes were loose when pushing against it with little pressure. Followed that up to the cat and I can visibly see something not conneted.
It's also visible from the engine bay looking down in the passenger side if you pay enough attention. Looks to be a section between the cat and headers, so whatever that is, it's not connected. Unless that's just part of the cat. It's just super tight and can't get a solid look at things.

I know nothing about these platforms so if anyone can help me understand what I'm looking at, please do. I have it parked in case it'll cause engine damage if driven till I can figure it out.

The joint I was thinking might be loose is the one between the center resonator and the downpipes with resonators. Otherwise you have a 3 bolt flange with a gasket attaching the cat to the downpipe, and then another one attaching the cat to the header.

Did your cat flange break at the welds? That's another thing that's happened to a few people.

Pretty much all you can see from the engine bay is your catalytic converter. Easy to identify because it's huge and has the secondary o2 sensor in the side of it.300600

Shop confirmed it broke at the welds at the flange. He said he'll try to take it out and have it welded by another shop, and if not, a new cat will need to be ordered.

Make sure your flex pipes are in good shape as well. A couple users have commented that they thought the flex pipe breaking put stress on the cat.
