I have a 1999 A4 1.8t
From the Turbo itself there is a little metal rod hanging down. But it is just dangaling there. What is wrong with this picture? is there a part missing.

I know my discription sucks but i have no other clue how to put it.

wastegate arm not connected to the actuator or the vavle? what color is it - does it sorta look like a threaded rod?

uh, isn't that the intake side of your engine, not the turbo side. if so, that would most likely be your throttle cable (or rod at that point)

ok is the throtle rod suposed to be like that?

does the car run, can you drive it? Its hard to tell by the photos, but you are saying the rod is just hanging there and not attached to anything? If so, you wouldn't be able to drive the car.

it runs but i can notice that it dosnt accelerate whatsoever at first. it just dangles there.

Vacuum servo for the cruise control, that ain't no turbo

yep, thats what it is, its part of the cruise control, has nothing to do with performance of your car, so the lack of acceleration is either a mental thing, or you have another issue with your car...

^^^^maybe the problem is that his car is calling for a BT change.

it seems to take about 15s if not more to accelerate to 60... seems a little slow id say.

Thats coming off the throttle cable... the turbo is on the opposite side of the engine... its not that ig of a deal, but I bet you that your cruise control wont work...(but then again, who has an A4 whos does, lol)

get a boost gauge for starters, and then we can figure out why it takes so long from 0 to 60
